2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember something between pages or between visits: that you are signed in, which language you prefer, or where you have been.

3. Which cookies this website uses

One, and only if you accept it.

  • Email recognition cookie (first-party, 400 days). It is set by mails.surgimob.com, our own email platform, and it does one thing: if you reach this site from a link in one of our emails, it recognises you and records which pages you look at, so that we do not keep writing to you about something you are no longer interested in. It is not set until you press “Accept” on the notice.
  • Nothing else. There is no third-party audience measurement, no advertising, no social buttons and no advertising profiles. Two things are kept in the browser’s local storage: your own answer to this notice, which is strictly necessary and never leaves your browser, and —only if you accept— a copy of the same identifier as the cookie above, so that it is not lost if the browser clears cookies.

If you press “Only what is needed”, or press nothing at all, no cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time: change which cookies you accept.

If you press play on a video — and only then — the YouTube player is loaded, and it may set its own cookies. Until you press it, what you see is a still image served from this same site and YouTube knows nothing about your visit. The player is requested in YouTube’s no-cookie mode.

5. The server log

Even without cookies, the server that delivers these pages records every request — IP address, date and time, page requested and browser — in order to detect attacks and diagnose faults. That log is deleted after 30 days and is not used to measure audiences or to build profiles.
